The future is now.
Chicago Cubs top prospect Kris Bryant continued to make his case for a roster spot after going deep twice Thursday against the Los Angeles Angels for his second and third homers of the spring.
Bryant, the second overall pick of the 2013 draft, jumped all over a Matt Lindstrom fastball in the third, drilling a two-run shot to left-center over the head of comedian Will Ferrell, who was participating in a 10-team tour of the Cactus League in support of cancer research.
The 23-year-old Bryant blasted a solo shot three innings later before exiting the game in the sixth.

Bryant, who hit 43 homers with a 1.098 OPS in the minors last season, is trying to break camp with the Cubs this spring.
