North Carolina will be without its starting big man as Kennedy Meeks is sick, forcing him to miss Wednesday's second-round ACC tournament game, according to ESPN's C.L. Brown.
Head coach Roy Williams said Meeks was running a fever and didn't practice Monday, nor will he take part in Tuesday's session.
"Running a temperature, they got it down last night, but it was back up this morning," Williams said. "They tested him for (mononucleosis), strep (throat), everything comes up negative. ... He won't play tomorrow, we'll have to wait and see after that."
The 6-foot-9 sophomore has been a catalyst for the Tar Heels this season, averaging 12.0 points and 7.9 rebounds per game.
