Mavs shoot the lights out, rout Clippers

Only days after getting embarrassed on their home floor, the Dallas Mavericks redeemed themselves with a 30-point rout of the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday.
Chandler Parsons scored a game-high 22 points to lead a balanced Mavericks attack that saw seven Dallas players reach double-figures in a 129-99 shellacking.
The Mavs, who were blown out by 33 points by the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday, shot a scorching 60.7 percent from the field and knocked down 16 of their 26 3-point attempts (57%) on a night it seemed everything was suddenly falling for them.
The Clippers, who shot 50 percent from the field themselves, faced a manageable 13-point deficit after three quarters, but a 24-5 Mavericks run to open the fourth quarter put the game away.
Charlie Villanueva added 19 points off of the Dallas bench, as the Mavericks pulled within a half-game of the fifth-place Clippers in the compact Western Conference standings, moving ahead of the idle San Antonio Spurs in the process.
J.J. Redick led the way for L.A. with 17 points, while DeAndre Jordan poured in 16 points and 18 rebounds.
