Report: Celtics fail to come to terms on contract with JaVale McGee

Nevermind. The dream of JaVale McGee extending the proud legacy of Boston Celtics big men has died before it lived.
Though they were rumored to be close to signing him to a deal Thursday, the Celtics could not, ultimately, agree on terms with the enigmatic free-agent center, Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald reports.
The initial report had the Celtics locking McGee up for the remainder of this season and all of next season, but according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the negotiations broke down over the parameters of the 2015-16 option.
McGee wanted it to be a player option, the Celtics wanted a team option, and both sides refused to budge.
And with that, McGee is back on the open market. Twenty-nine other teams rejoice!
