Report: Bears exploring trade options for Brandon Marshall

It looks as though Brandon Marshall could become a casualty of the new Ryan Pace-John Fox regime in Chicago.

While the Bears have given little indication publicly of whether Marshall will be a part of the team in 2015, Brad Biggs of The Chicago Tribune reports that they are exploring trade options for the 30-year-old wide receiver.

The efforts to move Marshall are an attempt by Pace and Fox clean up the Bears' locker room, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

One source told Biggs that the Bears are shopping Marshall with the idea of moving him, while another said he believes the team is fielding calls for Marshall. Trades cannot be finalized until Tuesday at 3 p.m.

It's unclear what the Bears are seeking in exchange for Marshall, but Biggs speculates that it's likely less than the two third-round picks they sent to the Miami Dolphins for him in March 2012. It's also unclear whether Chicago would consider releasing Marshall before locking into his contract for the upcoming season, Biggs reports.

Marshall's base salary of $7.5 million for 2015 becomes fully guaranteed on March 12, so the Bears will likely make a decision before then.

Marshall caught 61 passes for 721 yards and eight touchdowns in 13 games for the Bears last season.
