Report: Cary Williams to visit Seahawks, Jets and Titans

Preparing for the possible departure of Byron Maxwell in free agency, the Seattle Seahawks appear to be turning their attention to other cornerbacks available on the open market.

After being released by the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this week, Cary Williams is reportedly meeting with the Seahawks on Thursday, according to Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun.

Williams started all 32 games for the Eagles over the past two seasons, notching five interceptions and 126 tackles.

He's also scheduled to visit the New York Jets and Tennessee Titans, according to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean.

Though he struggled at times as part of a pass defense that ranked among the NFL's worst, Williams' potential fit with a dominant unit in Seattle is intriguing.

The Seahawks will likely be considering a number of different options at cornerback when free agency officially opens, but they'll certainly need a starter with some experience if Maxwell does indeed sign elsewhere.
