Peyton Manning: 'I'm excited to be back with the Denver Broncos'

It's been anything but a secret that Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is returning in 2015, and the future Hall of Famer removed all doubt on Wednesday.

Reports surfaced Wednesday that Manning would be taking a $4-million pay cut to better help the Broncos spend in free agency, and followed that up by telling Mike Klis of The Denver Post that he's looking forward to returning to the field.

"I've been working real hard and I'm excited to be back with the Denver Broncos. Can't wait for April 13 to get here when the team can finally come together. I'm excited to get to work and get to know the new coaches and looking forward to trying to make 2015 a special year."

The pivot still needs to pass a neck examination that is scheduled to take place Thursday morning before his return can become official. Manning didn't sound too worried about the results turning out well.

"I see that as being pretty routine," he said.

Manning wasn't concerned about meshing with head coach Gary Kubiak's offense, either. Kubiak frequently has his quarterback roll out on pass plays, something that could be challenging given Manning's lack of mobility.

"I feel like I'm pretty flexible," Manning said. "I feel like some how, some way I've found different ways to make things work. I look forward to working with coach Kubiak and trying to do my job and do whatever I can to help the team."

If anyone is wondering if this will be Manning's final season, he wants no part of answering those questions.

"I'm tired of talking about the past and the future," Manning said with a laugh. "I'm excited to talk about now."
