Report: Chris Young to choose team by end of the week

Chris Young will soon decide where he intends to pitch in 2015.

According to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick, the 35-year-old right-hander will review offers over the next few days and will choose a new team by the end of the week.

Young, an All-Star in 2007, revived his career with the Seattle Mariners last season after spending the entire 2013 campaign in the minor leagues and missing time with shoulder and neck pain caused by thoracic outlet syndrome.

After signing a one-year, $1.25-million deal with Seattle last March, Young authored a 3.65 ERA (100 ERA+) with a 1.23 WHIP over 29 starts and one relief appearance last season. Young, however, allowed 26 home runs in 165 innings while posting the 13th-worst strikeout rate among qualified starters.
