Baertschi has become a forgotten man in Calgary, spending the bulk of the last three seasons with the Flames' AHL affiliate in Abbotsford.

The 22-year-old has eight goals and 28 points in 66 games with the big club, who invested the 13th-overall pick in 2011 on the Swiss scorer.
Baertschi joins a strong group of prospects in the Canucks' system, which includes fellow first-round selections Jake Virtanen, Jared McCann, Bo Horvat and Hunter Shinkaruk.
