Lions decline to tag Ndamukong Suh

Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is about to cash in.
The Lions will not be applying the franchise tag to Suh ahead of Monday's 4 p.m. ET deadline, according to Tim Twentyman of the team's official website. Since the Lions previously restructured Suh's rookie deal, tagging him would have cost the team a hefty $26.9 million.
The two sides now have until March 10 to work out a long-term agreement, after which Suh would be free to sign elsewhere.
