Senators' Anderson activated off IR, scheduled to start Wednesday

Adam Hunger / USA TODAY Sports

The Ottawa Senators have their number one goalie back.

Craig Anderson has been activated off injured reserve after being out since Jan. 21 with a hand injury.

Anderson is scheduled to serve as backup to the red-hot Andrew Hammond for Tuesday's road game against the Minnesota Wild, and will get the start Wednesday in Winnipeg as first reported by Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen.

In 31 appearances prior to the injury, Anderson posted a record of 13-11-7 with a very solid .927 save percentage.

The Senators will ease him back into action behind Hammond, who's been nothing short of spectacular since being recalled on an emergency basis.
