Wizards' Beal remains out Friday

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

Despite optimism earlier this week that he might return to the lineup on Friday, Bradley Beal won't be available when the Washington Wizards take on the Philadelphia 76ers.

Friday will mark a seventh consecutive DNP for Beal, who's dealing with a stress reaction in his right leg for the third time in his brief career. The 21-year-old also missed the first nine games of the season due to a preseason wrist fracture.

Beal is averaging 15 points, 3.8 rebounds, three assists and 1.2 steals while knocking down a career-high 43.6 percent of his three-point attempts.

Beal's shooting and complementary backcourt ball handling alongside John Wall is an integral component of the Wizards' offense, as evidenced by the fact they score only 99.5 points per 100 possessions with their starting two-guard on the bench. By comparison, Washington scores 105.8 points per 100 possessions with Beal on the court.
