Kevin Garnett's first game back at the Target Center in a Minnesota Timberwolves uniform was an emotional experience – for both himself and fans.
"I've been back before, and I never paid attention to how much love is here still for me," Garnett said after the Wolves' perfectly fitting 97-77 win over the Washington Wizards, as reported by Jerry Zgoda of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "Tonight, it was over the top. I didn't know the city missed me like this. I don't think you can ever think the city loves you like this but to see it is reality."
Then he was asked how his 38-year-old body felt after playing 19 minutes – roughly his season average.
"Felt like shit," he said.
