Report: Eagles to release Todd Herremans

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

The Philadelphia Eagles are releasing right guard Todd Herremans, according to ESPN's Adam Caplan.

Herremans, the longest-tenured Eagles player, has two years remaining on his five-year contract with base salaries of $4 million in 2015 and 2016. Releasing him saves the Eagles $2.8 million against the salary cap.

The 32-year-old appeared in eight games last season before landing on injured reserve with a torn triceps.
