Report: No structural damage to Anthony Davis's shoulder, out 1-2 weeks
New Orleans Pelicans fans: let out a huge sigh of relief.
Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis hasn't sustained any structural damage to his injured shoulder, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports. Davis will be out for one-to-two weeks, reports David Aldridge of NBA.com.
Davis has battled lingering shoulder issues over the past few weeks. The injury sidelined him for the All-Star Game, yet Davis still managed to aggravate the ailment Saturday in a win against the Miami Heat.
His extended absence will severely undercut the Pelicans' hopes of contending for a playoff seed in the West. The Pelicans sit two games back of the Oklahoma City Thunder for eighth place.
Davis is enjoying a brilliant campaign, averaging 23.9 points, 10.3 rebounds and a league-leading 2.7 blocks per game on 54.4 percent shooting. The 21-year-old power forward also leads the league in PER at 31.1.
