Kevin Durant out Saturday, foot soreness will be monitored daily

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant will not play Saturday night against the Charlotte Hornets, as reported by Anthony Slater of The Oklahoman.

Foot soreness is again the culprit, two days after Durant appeared slowed by his recurring right-foot issue against the Dallas Mavericks. Durant played 37 minutes in the win, but was held to 12 points on 4-of-14 shooting. At one point during the game, he shouted "I can't move" at Thunder coach Scott Brooks, according to Darnell Mayberry of The Oklahoman.

Durant underwent surgery on the right foot before the season.

The foot will be monitored on a day-to-day basis, according to Slater, which means missed games here and there may become more common.

The Thunder are on a back-to-back over the weekend, going home to face the Denver Nuggets on Sunday. After another back-to-back test against the Phoenix Suns and Portland Trail Blazers, the Thunder get a break, playing the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers.

Newly acquired Kyle Singler will get the start Saturday with Durant sidelined. The Thunder have won four in a row.
