The Montreal Canadiens are quickly down a defenseman after Alexei Emelin suffered an upper-body injury 20 seconds into Wednesday's clash with the Ottawa Senators.
Emelin was clutching his right shoulder after slamming into the boards as a result of a collision with Mark Stone. He will not return.
The Canadiens are already without veteran Sergei Gonchar, who was injured in Saturday's win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
