Report: Francisco Rodriguez seeking $10-million contract

Francisco Rodriguez is hoping his patience will pay off.

With pitchers and catchers of some organizations set to report Wednesday, the reliever remains without a team. Though he has set his price.

Rodriguez is reportedly seeking a $10-million contract, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today Sports. While Nightengale doesn't specify the contract's length, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports noted last week that the right-hander is seeking a two-year deal.

The five-time All-Star revitalized his career last season in his second stint with the Milwaukee Brewers. In 66 appearances, K-Rod recorded 44 saves while posting a 3.04 ERA and 73 strikeouts.

With the exception of Andrew Miller and David Robertson, Rodriguez's demands - if over two years - fall in a similar range to the contracts received by fellow relievers Luke Gregerson (three years, $18.5 million), Sergio Romo (two years, $15 million), Pat Neshek (two years, $12.5 million) and Casey Janssen (one year, $5 million).
