LeBron James on Mike Malone's firing: '(Kings) didn't know what they were doing'
Count LeBron James as one of the many who were confused by the Sacramento Kings' sudden dismissal of former head coach Mike Malone earlier in December.
Malone served as an assistant coach during James's first tenure as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers and, to this day, James remains partial to his former coach.
"A good friend of mine got fired in Sacramento. (The Kings) didn't know what they were doing with Mike Malone," - LeBron James said.

Personal relationships aside, James may have a point. The Kings didn't exactly handle Malone's dismissal with grace and have gone just 7-21 without him this season. Malone was no great shakes with Sacramento, but he at least managed to guide Sacramento to a 11-13 record to start the season, including a 9-6 stretch while franchise center DeMarcus Cousins was healthy.
The Kings have since tabbed George Karl as their head coach going forward.
