The Pittsburgh Steelers expect to be without running back Le'Veon Bell for the first two games of the 2015 season, ESPN's John Clayton reports.
Bell was recently sentenced to 15 months of probation under a first-time offender's program stemming from his August arrest on marijuana charges.
Under the terms of the NFL's new substance abuse policy, Bell faces a two-game ban.
Bell emerged as one of the NFL's most dynamic running backs last season, compiling 1,361 yards rushing (second most in the league) and scoring eight touchdowns, in addition to 854 yards receiving.
Bell's knee injury was a major factor in the Steelers' playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
