Kansas basketball assistant Jerrance Howard fined in Aug. 2014 for ​drug possession

Kansas men's basketball assistant Jerrance Howard reportedly plead guilty to misdemeanor drug possession in August 2014, according to Kirk Wessler of The Journal Star.  

Howard was charged with the Class B misdemeanor of unlawful possession of cannabis in Peoria County. He was given court supervision for six months and ordered to pay a $1,178.26 fine, as listed in the State of Illinois vs. Howard, Jerrance O case file

Coach Bill Self declined to elaborate on the situation. 

"It's an internal matter," Self told Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star. “It will be handled like all personnel matters.

Howard has served as an assistant at Kansas for two seasons. Prior to that, he spent five seasons as an assistant coach and served as an interim coach at Ilinois and joined SMU as an assistant coach for the 2012-13 season.
