Brett Favre's long-awaited return to Lambeau Field will soon come to fruition.

The former quarterback announced Monday he'll be making the trip to Wisconsin in 2015 to be inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame and have his number retired.

"It was a tremendous honor to play 16 years for the Green Bay Packers," Favre wrote on his official website. "Now to have my name placed among others such as (Bart) Starr, (Paul) Hornung, (Jerry) Kramer, (Jim) Taylor, (Earl) Lambeau, (Ray) Nitschke, (Vince) Lombardi, (Willie) Davis, (Reggie) White and (Don) Hutson is a special honor that I share with all of my teammates and coaches, and that would not have been possible but for the foresight of Ron Wolf, the greatest GM In the history of the NFL.

"I'm truly looking forward to celebrating and sharing this special moment with all of the great fans of the Green Bay Packers."

The Packers first announced plans to induct Favre into their Hall of Fame back in August. His No. 4 jersey will be unveiled inside Lambeau Field during a to-be-determined game during the 2015 season.
