Jets' Kane will undergo shoulder surgery, expected to miss 4-6 months
Evander Kane's season is over.
The Winnipeg Jets forward requires surgery to repair a nagging shoulder injury. Recovery time for the procedure is typically four to six months, which means Kane won't be back on the ice until at least June.

The surgery also complicates Kane's value as a trade-deadline target. The Jets were reportedly shopping Kane following an incident with teammates - the latest in a series of mishaps that have come to define his time in Winnipeg.
Placing Evander Kane on long-term injured reserve does not prevent #NHLJets from a trade. Some believe he'll still be moved before March 2.

Kane is in the third season of a six-year contract with a $5.25-million cap hit. He scored 10 goals in 37 games before suffering the injury.
