Sharapova cruises to quarterfinal matchup with Bouchard at Australian Open

Second-seeded Maria Sharapova had little trouble with No. 21 seed Peng Shuai on Day 7 of the Australian Open, wrapping up a 6-3, 6-0 fourth-round victory in one hour and 15 minutes to advance to the quarterfinal round, where she'll face Canadian Eugenie Bouchard.

Peng broke Sharapova's serve in the seventh game, but Sharapova won the next two games to claim the first set in 39 minutes, then swept the second set.

Ever the perfectionist, Sharapova wasn't pleased with even the few missteps she made during the match.

Sharapova and Bouchard will be featured in a crucial Grand Slam meeting for the second time in as many years after facing off in the French Open semifinal last year. Sharapova came away victorious in that one despite dropping the opening set.

The 27-year-old is 3-0 against Bouchard in her career.
