Hornets' Walker out again with knee soreness
The Charlotte Hornets will be without point guard Kemba Walker on Saturday against a New York Knicks team riding a season-high three-game winning streak.
Walker is still dealing with left knee soreness that forced him to miss a pair of games earlier in the week and will get some extra time to recover before the Hornets are back in action Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs.
The knee soreness is being caused by a cyst, but Walker was able to suit up for the Hornets' last two games, including Friday's 39-point loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. He didn't perform particularly well in either contest, shooting a combined 7-of-31 from the field.
Despite Friday's blowout loss, Charlotte has been playing well recently, having won eight of its last 10 games.
Walker's averaging a team-high 18.8 points, 5.2 assists and 1.4 steals through 42 games.
The Knicks, meanwhile, are without Carmelo Anthony, who is being rested on the second night of a back-to-back.
