Pelicans' Davis remains sidelined with toe sprain

Tom Szczerbowski-USA TODAY Sports

The New Orleans Pelicans got by without Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday on Sunday in a road win over the Toronto Raptors. They'll have to do it again Monday on the second night of a back-to-back, albeit against a much weaker opponent.

Davis will miss his third consecutive game with a toe sprain when the Pelicans visit the lowly New York Knicks, the team announced

New Orleans will also be without Holiday, who is set to miss his fourth straight game with right ankle inflammation. Both starters should be back in the lineup soon.

"We're waiting for them to get to the point where they can get close to 100 percent," Pelicans Coach Monty Williams said, according to NBA.com's Jim Eichenhofer. "They're both day-to-day."

Davis is averaging a team-leading 24.2 points, 10.4 rebounds and leads the NBA with 2.92 blocks per game.
