Report: Tampering charges filed against Jets' Woody Johnson for Revis comments

New York Jets owner Woody Johnson has landed in hot water for comments he made in December about wanting New England Patriots cornerback Darrelle Revis to return to New York.

Tampering charges have been filed against Johnson and the NFL is now trying to determine a) if a violation occurred and b) if so, how large a fine should be levied against the Jets, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter

The NFL's tampering policy states, "Any public or private statement of interest, qualified or unqualified, in another club's player to that player's agent or representative, or to a member of the news media, is a violation of the Anti-Tampering Policy."

Revis's contract with the Patriots includes a team option for 2015 worth $20 million, which Schefter speculates they will decline.
