Mickey Johnson to transfer from LSU
Derick E. Hingle / US PRESSWIRE
Mickey Johnson will transfer out of LSU, the sophomore defensive tackle confirmed to Jim Kleinpeter of the Times-Picayune on Saturday.
Johnson has no immediate destination in mind because he expects to receive a release in August when he graduates.
"(Defensive line) Coach Brick (Haley) said it wouldn't be a problem, but nothing officially until I graduate in August," said Johnson about getting the release. "That way I can be eligible immediately."
He said that he will likely not participate in spring practice.
In two seasons, Johnson played seven games and recorded six tackles. Johnson would have two seasons of eligibility left as a graduate transfer.
