Report: Bears interested in interviewing Vic Fangio for defensive coordinator

Vic Fangio may not be out of work for long. 

The Chicago Bears have requested permission to interview the former San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. 

However, since Fangio was released from his contract Thursday, the Bears do not need to seek permission to interview Fangio. 

Fangio was the 49ers defensive coordinator from 2011-2014, building the foundation of a defense that carried the team to three consecutive NFC Championship Games.
