Warriors win 6th straight, send Cavs to 4th loss in a row

The Cleveland Cavaliers hung tough with the NBA's best team considering they were still without LeBron James and were incorporating another new addition in Timofey Mozgov, but the Golden State Warriors cruised down the stretch, en route to their NBA-best 29th win.

Klay Thompson's 24 points led six Warriors in double-figures, while Stephen Curry finished with 23 points and 10 assists and Draymond Green flirted with another triple-double, posting 10 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, three blocks and a steal in the 112-94 victory.

Thompson left the game briefly with a cut to his forehead following a J.R. Smith elbow to the face, but he returned to the court after receiving seven stitches.

With the win, their sixth straight, the Warriors improved to 16-1 at home and 12-0 against the Eastern Conference.

Mark Jackson, who was fired by the Warriors and replaced by Steve Kerr after last season, was in attendance as an ESPN analyst and received a standing ovation from the Oracle Arena crowd.

As for the Cavaliers, Smith poured in a game-high 27 points in his second game with the team, while Mozgov added nine points and eight rebounds in his Cavs debut, but it wasn't enough to avoid a fourth straight loss.

Kevin Love posted 17 points and 14 rebounds on 6-of-11 shooting in the loss, while Kyrie Irving scored 23 points, but struggled shooting the ball (9-of-23).

The Cavs entered the fourth quarter down only eight points and cut the deficit to five midway through the final frame, but the Warriors finished the game on a 19-6 run over the final 5:41.

With the loss, Cleveland (19-18) fell to sixth-place in the Eastern Conference standings, a half-game behind the upstart Milwaukee Bucks.
