Report: Kings' Mike Richards expected to be healthy scratch Saturday vs. Jets

Matt Kartozian / USA TODAY Sports

Los Angeles Kings center Mike Richards was left off line rushes at practice Friday, indicating he'll be scratched Saturday versus the Winnipeg Jets, according to Rich Hammond of the Orange County Register.

He was replaced by rookie Andy Andreoff after being limited to 12 shifts and a season-low nine minutes and seven seconds in Thursday's loss the New York Rangers

Richards was a prime buyout candidate this summer after being reduced to bottom-six minutes for the Stanley Cup champion Kings, but managed to convince general manager Dean Lombardi otherwise.

He has responded with five goals and 14 points in 41 games.
