Dirk Nowitzki only held the No. 8 spot on the NBA's all-time scoring list for 10 days.
The Dallas Mavericks forward moved into seventh place with a 3-pointer Monday night against the Brooklyn Nets - one that also sealed a 96-88 Dallas overtime win.
Nowitzki passed Moses Malone after moving ahead of Elvin Hayes for No. 8 on Dec. 26. The next name on the list is Shaquille O'Neal, who sits at sixth all-time. Nowitzki trails Shaq by 1,184 points.
