VIDEO: Celtics give Rajon Rondo a rousing homecoming reception
Fans don't tend to like watching onetime iconic franchise players plying their trade elsewhere, and it's hard to predict how their bittersweet homecomings will go over.
That said, the Boston Celtics faithful have typically shown a healthy appreciation for their alumni, particularly those of the magical 2008 squad (just ask Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett).
With Rajon Rondo returning to Beantown for the first time since being traded to the Dallas Mavericks last month, the Celtics and their fans once again pulled out all the stops, giving Rondo a rousing ovation during pregame intros ...
And another one during an emotional, in-game tribute video:
Rondo, as is his wont, played up to the moment and then some, scoring the Mavericks' first 10 points of the game and finishing the first quarter with 15 points on 6-of-6 shooting.
