Report: Lions' Ndamukong Suh blamed numbness for his step on Aaron Rodgers
The Detroit Lions caught a lucky break from the NFL on Tuesday, as defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh had his one-game suspension for stepping on the leg of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers overturned.
Suh will still have to pay a fine for his actions, but will be eligible to play in Sunday's wild-card matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
It's rare for league-issued suspensions to get overturned, meaning Suh must have made a pretty convincing argument. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the basis for that argument was the cold weather:
During appeal, Ndamukong Suh said his feet were numb from cold and he couldn't tell difference between Aaron Rodgers' feet and the ground.

Rodgers addressed the incident Tuesday, and while he didn't say outright that Suh's actions were intentional, he didn't sound entirely convinced the step was an accident, either.
"The only thing I can say is if you step on something in your everyday life or if you step on somebody on the field, the first reaction seems to be looking back and maybe apologizing with your hands or maybe pulling your foot back right away, and I'm just not sure that's what happened on Sunday," Rodgers said, according to ESPN.com.
