Packers clinch NFC North with victory over Lions

The Green Bay Packers clinched the NFC North with a 30-20 victory over the Detroit Lions

Green Bay will be the second seed in the NFC playoffs. Detroit will face the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round of the postseason. 

Here's what you need to know: 

  • Green Bay drove to Detroit's 1-yard line on their opening possession, but the offense was stopped on fourth-and-1. 
  • The Packers opened the scoring on Micah Hyde's 55-yard punt-return touchdown. 
  • Aaron Rodgers left the game with a calf injury after throwing a touchdown pass to Randall Cobb. Rodgers returned to the game in the third quarter, scoring on a 1-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to extend the Packers lead to 28-14. 
  • Rodgers went 17-of-22 for 226 yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions and the aforementioned rushing touchdown.
  • Cobb finished with four catches for 80 yards and two touchdowns.
  • Matthew Stafford threw a 20-yard touchdown to Calvin Johnson, cutting the Packers' lead to 14-7 at halftime. Stafford went 20-of-41 for 217 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. 
  • Johnson caught his second touchdown pass of the game, tying the game at 14-14 in the third quarter. The Lions' superstar caught four passes for 39 yards.
