The phrase "goal of the year candidate" has already been thrown around a couple of times in the young NHL campaign, but it would be hard to argue that this one tops them all.
Detroit Red Wings forward Gustav Nyquist scored an overtime winner to defeat the Ottawa Senators on Saturday night, holding on to the puck for nearly half a minute and circling the zone three times before firing home the decisive goal.
Cue the circus music.
That's just unfair.
