49ers GM says Michigan has been in contact about Harbaugh

San Francisco 49ers general manager Trent Baalke confirmed that the University of Michigan has reached out to the organization to inquire about head coach Jim Harbaugh, according to the Toledo Blade.

"I think the University of Michigan, in reaching out, did handle it correctly," Baalke told San Francisco sports-talk radio station, 95.7 The Game.

Baalke made it clear that Harbaugh's situation won't be addressed until after the 49er's final regular season game against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

"As I look at it, it's very simple. He's the head football coach of the San Francisco 49ers," he said.

Harbaugh has one year left on his contract with the 49ers.

On Tuesday, Michigan tweeted out a spirited happy birthday picture to their alumnus.
