Packers clinch playoff berth with victory over Buccaneers
The Green Bay Packers clinched a playoff berth Sunday with a 20-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Here's what you need to know:
- Packers pigskin cannon Aaron Rodgers, coming off his worst game of the season last week, had a solid outing, completing 31 of 40 passes for 318 yards and a touchdown. However, he looked notably slow during parts of the game after straining his calf early in the first quarter.
- Eddie Lacy eclipsed the 1,000-yard rushing plateau for the second time in as many seasons, finishing the game with 99 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. He left during the fourth quarter with leg cramps and didn't return after the Packers put the game out of reach.
- A pair of Packers topped 100 yards receiving, with Randall Cobb racking up 131 yards on 11 receptions and Jordy Nelson amassing 113 yards on nine receptions.
- Buccaneers quarterback Josh McCown had a forgettable afternoon, completing 12 of 26 passes for 147 yards and an interception.
- Doug Martin couldn't generate any offense for Tampa Bay from the backfield, rushing for 17 yards on 10 carries.
- The Packers can capture the NFC North title next week with a victory over the Detroit Lions.
