Analysis:
General manager Ron Hextall doesn't believe Mason's injury is a long-term concern, but the appointment with the specialist should allow the goalie to formulate a recovery plan. Even so, Mason will be unavailable for the Flyers' two weekend contests, and it wouldn't be a surprise if he needed a few additional games off beyond that before returning to the net. In his stead, Ray Emery will assume the reins as the Flyers' top netminder, while Rob Zepp acts as his backup.
