Cardinals' Lindley shutting out negativity as he prepares for Seahawks

Ryan Lindley is trying his best to avoid the terrifying cesspool known as Twitter as he prepares for the biggest football game of his life.

The Arizona Cardinals quarterback is aware of the negativity being loudly spouted about him in the media, and those around him are helping him ignore it.

"My wife on Monday put a social media ban on the house this week," Lindley told reporters Wednesday, as relayed by ESPN's Terry Blount. "Of course I've heard some of it, but we preach in this building that it's all about how we feel and what we think about each other. As long as I have the respect of my teammates I'll feel comfortable going out there."

Lindley, a third-stringer forced into action after the Cardinals lost Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton to injury, has a chance to help the Cardinals clinch the NFC West title with a victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

The last time Lindley faced the Seahawks was in 2012 when he was brought in for mop-up duty during an embarrassing 58-0 loss, during which he completed 8-of-17 passes for 59 yards.

"I just remember mopping it up," Lindley said. "That was a rough season and this is a whole new team, new regime and a whole new attitude we have around here. It starts with the leadership we get from (head coach Bruce Arians)."
