49ers' Ray McDonald under investigation for alleged rape
San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Ray McDonald is under investigation for an alleged rape that took place at his home in San Jose on Monday.
According to a statement issued by the San Jose Police Department, officers received a call from a local hospital Tuesday morning from an alleged sexual assault victim who was there receiving treatment.
"Officers responded and made contact with the adult female victim," the statement reads. "The victim alleged she was possibly sexually assaulted a day prior. The preliminary investigation revealed the alleged suspect was Ray McDonald."
A search warrant was served to the home of McDonald on Tuesday, but police state that no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
McDonald was arrested in late August on suspicion of domestic violence. Santa Clara prosecutors decided not to file charges against McDonald and he was not suspended by the NFL.
