Because nothing is ever simple when it comes to Edmonton Oilers coaches, it would appear that Todd Nelson - formerly the head coach of the American Hockey League's Oklahoma City Barons - will officially coach his first game as an NHL head coach on Tuesday. Except not really.
It would seem that Nelson is Edmonton's interim head coach, but he's not actually.
Meanwhile, MacTavish is not really Edmonton's head coach, except he is.
It all sounds very functional, healthy and conducive to the development of a winning environment.
