Penguins reassign Megna; recall Rust and Farnham

The Pittsburgh Penguins have reassigned forward Jayson Megna, 24, following a sordid outing for the young depth forward Friday night against the Calgary Flames, the club announced.

The Penguins have recalled 22-year-old winger Bryan Rust and 25-year-old farmhand Bobby Farnham; the latter replacing injured Penguins depth forward Zach Sill, according to a report from freelance Penguins reporter Shelly Anderson.

Megna has appeared in nine games with the Penguins this season, and has managed just one assist. Among all Penguins forwards who've appeared in at least five games, Megna has the worst shot attempt differential on the club and took four minor penalties against the Flames on Friday. He spent more time in the box than he did on the ice, which is never what an NHL coach is looking for from a fourth-line player.
