UAB offensive coordinator Bryant Vincent is heading back to South Alabama, to carry the same role with the Jaguars.

Vincent accepted the Jaguars' offer nine days after it was announced that the Blazers' program would be shut down, according to Tommy Hicks of AL.com.

He was with the Jaguars from 2011-13 serving as the quarterbacks coach before leaving for the Blazers in January.

Vincent led the Blazers to the Conference USA's fifth-ranked offense in yards per game with 432. They were also ranked fifth in points per game this season with 33.2.

"I'm extremely excited to come back to South Alabama. This is a first-class university with first-class people. I believe that South Alabama football is on the verge of exploding. Coach Jones and his staff have done a tremendous job of getting the program where it's at from the ground up and I'm just excited about being a part of it," Vincent said.

"Being here three years prior to this last season, I do have a lot of familiarity with the players and coaches and I do think it helps with the transition," he added. "Knowing what those guys are capable of."

Vincent is expected to coach the Jaguars at the Camellia Bowl game against Bowling Green on Dec. 20 at Montgomery's Cramton Bowl.
