Turns out it wasn't just Papiss Cisse's brace that contributed to Chelsea's first loss of the season, as Jose Mourinho's conspiracy theory concluded that children were to blame for Saturday's defeat.

According to the Portuguese manager, the Newcastle United ball boys failed to do their job at St James' Park and withheld the ball on multiple occasions when Chelsea players attempted to make a comeback in the dying moments of their 2-1 loss.

“Every time the ball goes out, the ball isn’t there. The ball boys run away, this kind of situation that is not part of the game. You didn’t see that? The ball disappeared," Mourinho said, as transcribed by NBC Sports.

"They keep the ball, we want to play. This kind of strategy. I think there should have been more time added on. Even during the extra time they kept doing the same thing. It is very difficult for the referee to compete with it. It is the kind of strategy that is still part of the game.”
