Pistons waive Aaron Gray

The Detroit Pistons announced that they have waived center Aaron Gray.
Coming into Sunday, the Pistons' roster numbered 16, and teams can only carry a maximum of 15 players during the regular season, so Gray was the odd one out. Gray was also dealing with a cardiac episode earlier this summer, so health likely factored into the decision.
The Pistons inked Gray to a multi-year deal this summer. Having cut Gray, the Pistons still have plenty of options at center, with Andre Drummond, Greg Monroe and Joel Anthony still on the roster.
Last season, Gray played 37 games last season, posting per game averages of 1.8 points and three rebounds.
