McCarthy made his first Premier League start of the season in a 3-2 loss to the Reds on Sunday.

Analysis:

With Robert Green (illness) sidelined, McCarthy was called upon to man the goal. He was the victim of some shoddy defending and poor bounces, as two of Liverpool's goals were own goals.
