Report: Gustavo Ayon getting richer offers from Europe

Mexican big man Gustavo Ayon could see his free agent stock rise after a 25-point, seven-rebound performance against Team USA in the FIBA World Cup on Saturday. As of right now, though, it sounds like the 29-year-old is getting better offers from overseas than he is from the NBA.

Ayon averaged 4.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.0 steals in 26 games with the Hawks last season and has career averages of 4.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and over 16 minutes through three NBA seasons spent with Atlanta, Milwaukee, Orlando and New Orleans.

The 6-foot-10, 250-pound big man moves well for his size, has some offensive potential in the paint - as evidenced against the U.S. - and could be a solid, low-risk depth piece off of the bench for any number of teams, but whether any of those teams will ultimately pay him enough to keep him in the Association remains to be seen.

Ayon has also dealt with some injury issues and has never played more than 55 games in a season.
