Alabama will be without starting linebacker Trey DePriest when the Crimson Tide opens up its season Saturday against West Virginia.
Alabama starting LB Trey DePriest will miss Saturday’s game “due to a minor NCAA infraction,” per Saban. He’ll be back Week 2.

No details were provided as to the specifics of DePriest's infraction. He will be eligible to return when Alabama takes on Florida Atlantic for the second game of the season.
DePriest, a senior, started all 13 games for the Crimson Tide last season, notching 65 tackles, 7 ½ tackles for loss, two sacks and an interception. With DePriest unavailable, sophomore Reuben Foster is expected to take over in the starting lineup.
