Falcons officially place Sam Baker on IR; sign tackle Pat McQuistan

The Atlanta Falcons announced Monday that they have officially placed offensive tackle Sam Baker on injured reserve, ending his season with the team.
Baker was selected 21st overall by the Falcons in the 2008 NFL Draft and played in 70 career games in six seasons with the organization. He suffered a torn patella tendon in the team's second preseason contest on Saturday.
To add some depth back at the position, the Falcons also announced the signing of veteran offensive tackle Pat McQuistan. The eight-year pro has appeared in 72 career games as a member of the Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, and Arizona Cardinals.
